Let’s say you’ve started investing in yourself recently. What that means is more attention, intention, time, money or energy is going towards YOU.

The funny little thing about this is when we dare to claim our value by investing in ourselves, all the old unworthy crap comes up to play.

This can look like losing things, having minor accidents, just feeling “off”, ditching your healthy eating plan, taking up bad habits, and can sometimes show up as bigger problems if we really need to be shaken up.

I call these Soul Smackdowns.

They suck. You are doing everything “right” and things go wrong. WTF.

So, what’s a gal to do? Throw in the towel and give up? What’s the point anyway right? Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.

OR

Keep going. You are onto something!

You have effectively started shaking the sh*t out of your life in a way.

It is not fun, nor comfortable. Have the discernment to realize the changes are happening and the problems are the evidence changes are happening.

Just because it doesn’t look how YOU think it should look, doesn’t mean the bigger picture transformation isn’t happening.

“You can’t change what you tolerate.” Cesar Millan (the dog whisperer)

The gift of these problems, or breakdowns some people call them, are they shake up the normalized things that are not in our highest. Because we tolerate them and have adapted to them, they FEEL more comfortable than the uncomfy changes happening.

Keep going.

If you know in your heart and soul what is best for you and you are actually investing in that, in yourself, you will come through as a transformed you.

The Soul Smackdowns are not fun, but take them as evidence that you are on your way.
