Namaste!
The boom of the yoga movement, reiki, essential oils, crystals, life coaching has given birth to a sub-culture dialogue that doesn’t always have a Webster definition (Webster’s dictionary) to help us out.
I mean, what does heart centred even mean?
I’ll be honest if you know me personally or have been following my content for a while, I am sure you know my thoughts about diluted spiritual and self-development speak.
However, we can all use more distinctions in this area to go BEYOND the mind, and into the heart space.
Let’s start here. Heart Centred Living is commonly mistaken for all those ooey-gooey, carebear sayings like “be kind”, “listen to your heart”, “choose love”, “this is all for the best, your heart knows”. But do you know your heart? What does that mean?
Quick Quiz: Do you know your heart?
1. Do you think emotions are tools for your life and a way to hear your truth?
yes/no
2. Do you know the difference between silent knowing and thinking knowing?
yes/no
3. Do you live in your body? (Are you present? Can you move through life with a sense of being totally aware of your present moment rather than all the thoughts in your head past, present and future?)
yes/no
If you answered YES, then this will be a nice, succinct review to anchor what you already know and grow that heart space.
If NO, well then great! You are beginning a magnificent journey to one of the biggest ally’s you could ever have; your own heart space.
In my program You are the Manual I go into much more detail about this in the module about Heart Intelligence, however, knowing about the Mind, the Body and Spirit help put it all into perspective. Each area enhances the whole. If this is a topic you want to explore I highly encourage the recorded 5 module program.
But for now, what I can leave you with is this.
Living in the HEART doesn’t mean always feeling positive!!!!
Holy Moly, far from it.
What it does give you is a centre to anchor to; a knowledge of your place on this earth, in your Being, that is unshakeable. It enables feelings to process. Think of the heart centre as your digestive system for emotional energy. If you eat cucumber, easy peezy for the gut digestive system to process, assimilate what’s needed, expel what isn’t. Nature at its finest.
Emotional digestion through the heart. Well, unfortunately, we’ve overused our cognitive mind to take over a job it was never designed to do. The mind will only ruminate, not digest and assimilate. The body and heart process the energy of emotions, e-motion.Its doens’t make them go away. Grief will be grief, anger will be anger, disappointment will still hurt or feel sad, emotions are not bad because they are experienced as discomfort. They are simply misunderstood.
When we REALLY live heart centred. We can feel feelings, and use them as energy, information, confirmation and just plain feel as a human experience.
The emotions can simply be. They can move and serve us as they were meant to.
I personally used to think emotions were JERKS. I wanted nothing to do with my body full of pain and my emotions which ripped me from difficult feeling too difficult feeling with no real sense of peace on the horizon. No knowledge of how to deal or what to do.
Healer heal thyself, right?
And so, here I am on the other side of this journey. Wanting to share the REAL DEAL information that is not diluted or hype-y.
Feeling feelings is not always HAPPY. But it will bring you sanity, eventually. Feeling feelings allows the intelligence to be brought to the surface. For your betterment, nourishment, clarity, and truth.
Heart Intelligence doesn’t speak English (or your dominant language). It mostly speaks FEELING.
If you dam the feelings, they build up and we all know what that feels like. Its chaotic, insecure, tiring, overwhelming….
NOT a positive feeling.
The good news, once you start small, connect to your heart more, know that it is teaching you in different ways than your logical mind understands, and have compassion for the spectrum of human emotions, you are on your way.
You learned to walk.
You learned many things small, steady and slow, you can learn how to live genuinely heart centred too.
